Dan Walker was hit with a mortifying blunder last week when he teased his upcoming TV show.
Last week, the star revealed he was launching a show with Channel 5 called Digging for Treasure which saw the TV host join metal detectorists, mud larkers and marine archaeologists look for hidden history under ground.

However, in a mortifying mishap as Dan teased the show on his Twitter under the title “Dogging for Treasure” – only to have the blunder pointed out by an influx of fans.
Dan realised his mistake and wrote: “DIGGING DIGGING DIGGING”, but the damage was done and fans were in hysterics at the mishap.
Now, just one week on, Twitter has revealed that it is rolling out an edit button.
To confirm the new plan, they wrote: “If you see an edited Tweet it’s because we’re testing out the edit button. This is happening and you’ll be okay.”
Dan quote-tweeted it and added: “Where on earth were you last week?” He also added another plug of the TV show as he chirped: “DIGGING for Treasure returns tomorrow at 9pm on Channel 5.”
Fans took the opportunity to laugh at Dan once again with one person writing: “You did give us all a good laugh though!”
While another added: “Definitely no dogging this week then?”
A third added: “That was a brilliant tweet!”
After Dan’s mortifying blunder last week the TV star added: “Full apology has been accepted and I have offered my resignation.”
Dan has been at Channel 5 since the start of June after revealing in April that he would be leaving BBC Breakfast and joining a rival company.
The TV-favourite has been at Channel 5 mere months and has started branching out to shows across the channel, including Digging for Treasure.
Prior to his move Dan had worked on the morning show for six years and declared it a “real privilege” to present the BBC show.
Since his departure it was revealed that Jon Kay would be taking over his role as the permanent morning host in Dan’s slot alongside Sally Nugent.
