Mollie joins Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and ex-Gladiators host John Fashanu in the star-studded line-up.
Appearing on Lorraine after the announcement, Mollie said: “I’m really excited. I’ve not really felt nervous yet strangely but being here today, I am now feeling it a little bit.”
On her previous skating experience, she added: “I’ve done it at Christmas markets and before the tryouts of Dancing on Ice, I checked that I enjoyed it… but hopefully I can whip around the ring!
“I love acting through song… so I’m hoping that when we get our song choices, I can create a character.
“That’s something I’m looking forward to.”
During the interview, Mollie also confessed to “not having the best coordination” and shared her fears of falling on the ice.
Presented by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Dancing on Ice will return to screens in January next year.
A sneak peek at the new stars in action is expected to air this December.
Earlier this year, Regan Gascoigne and his professional skating partner Karina Manta swept to victory.
Mollie follows a number of Coronation Street actors to compete on the ITV skating show.
Sally Webster star Sally Dynevor took part in last year’s competition, with her co-stars Jane Danson and Samia Longchambon also appearing in earlier series.
On taking advice from her Corrie co-stars, Mollie added: “I’ll be getting all the tips I can because I’m going to need it!”
Dancing on Ice is expected to return to ITV in January 2023
