Dancing On Ice’s Dan Whiston has revealed that Sally Dynevor sent him a moving text after she was eliminated from the competition.
The Corrie star, 58, got her marching orders after ending up in the bottom two on Sunday night’s (February 27) show, and graciously told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby that she thought it was her “time to go”.
Dan, the show’s choreographer and creative director, said he was really sad to see Sally leave the ITV contest and that everybody on the ice-skating show had loved working with her.
Writing in his OK! column, he said he received a message from the actress as soon as he had got home from the programme.
He said: “She said, ‘Thank you so much for working so hard with me Dan, I’ve enjoyed every moment with you on the ice.’
“I thought that was wonderful. She text me straight away and that really meant a lot to me, and she’s that sort of person – she’ll go around and text everyone to thank them.”
“I would work with her again in a heartbeat,” he added.
Sally, 58, was eliminated following a tense dance-off against BMX star Kye Whyte, becoming the sixth celeb to leave.
Both stars skated their boots off but in the end judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse decided to keep Kye in the contest.
Sally’s DOI exit came after the actress – who is best known for playing Sally Metcalfe on the cobbles – spoke out about the confidence that the show had given her.
She recently told the Sunday Mirror: “I think when you get to a certain age you start to lose confidence in yourself. It’s very different being in your 20s to being in your 50s.
“I just want to say to older women, ‘Let’s not give up, let’s be amazing in our 50s’.”
