Dancing on Ice's Bez falls over on ice rink as he makes epic return in ITV final

Bez made an epic return to the ice rink during the Dancing on Ice final, but it wasn’t long before he fell over in dramatic style.

The Happy Mondays star was eliminated from the show last month during Musicals Week, but he made an epic comeback during Sunday’s grand finale (March 27).

The fan-favourite contestant, who was paired up with show pro Angela Egan, was seen skating away furiously from a giant boulder in a hilarious nod to his previous Indiana Jones routine.

Bez had previously starred as fictional film archeologist Indiana Jones during Movie Week, where he was seen skating to The Raiders of the Lost Ark theme, which famously starred Harrison Ford in the leading role.

It all appeared to go wrong for the Manchester musician when he took a mighty tumble on the ice and landed flat on his face in front of the nation.

Commentating on the moment as the film theme played, show host Phillip Schofield joked: “Oh it’s still chasing him [the boulder]”.

As Bez fell, Phil said: “No change then!”, before co-host Holly added: “It’s almost a Bolero finish…”

Presumably though, it was all planned from the start in a bid to delight fans, which would make Bez a rather good sport.

Fans of the show were thrilled to see Bez return to the rink, and many of them were in stitches at his short but memorable segment.

One wrote: “Bez makes his return to the ice and once again falls over what a sport he is”.

A second said: “Bez falling is the highlight of the show”.

A third commented: “bez went down like a sack of spuds” as they attached laughing-emojis.

A fourth wrote: “Was most excited to see Bez again, won’t lie”.

A fifth added: “Bez fell over and just accepted it” with a series of laughing-emojis.

The final saw pro dancer finalists Regan Gascoigne, Brendan Cole and Kimberly Wyatt take to the rink one final time in a bid to impress the ice panel and the nation.

They were battling it out in front of judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo and world-famous skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Show hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly also returned to the helm after Holly missed the semi-finals due to catching Covid.

In the end, Regan Gascoigne was crowned the winner – and the dancer broke down in tears of joy at the result.
