Denise Van Outen has confessed she raided a church for communion wine after an all-night bender.
The former Big Breakfast host admitted she did it on more than one occasion after running out of booze.
Denise, 47, said: “I remember one Sunday morning, after being up all night, my friend Lucy and I were sad to realise that we’d run out of alcohol.
“‘Where the hell would be open on a Sunday morning that we could get some wine?’ Lucy said.
“I thought for a moment, and then it hit me. ‘Church!’
“As a Roman Catholic, I knew that there was Communion wine for sipping.”
She added: “Plus there was always a little reception and mingle after the service in the little church in Kensington, where we could get a bevvy.
“God knows what I was thinking, but I’m ashamed to say it wasn’t a one-time thing either.”
In her new autobiography, A Bit of Me, Denise revealed she was a party animal earlier in her showbiz career.
The former wild child – who recently split from cheating fiancee Eddie Boxshall – said she did “all the clubs.”
Denise admitted: “These were the years of wild partying and experimenting for so many young people, me included.
“It was like this craving for fun freedom had swept across the youth of the country.
“I suppose most generations have their time of rebellion, like rock and roll in the fifties and punk in the seventies.
“This one was ours, and I feel fortunate to have grown up during the era of raves and house music.
“I did all of the clubs: the Cross, Bagley’s, Ministry of Sound.
“I lived for the weekends, out every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and often Sunday as well.”
The news comes after Denise recently admitted to telling fibs in order to land her role on The Big Breakfast.
Talking to Daily Mail she confessed: “What did I know about reading a weather report? Didn’t you have to have the right sort of meteorological knowledge for that?
“What I did know was that this was a fantastic opportunity, Channel 4 was doing a big relaunch of the show, and that’s where I came in.”
She added: “As per, I went all out, fibbing about having taken a meteorological course and assuring them that I’d be able to write my own weather report, no one could ever accuse me of not being a trier!”
