This Morning turned awkward when Alison Hammond became starry eyed as she fan-girled over Bridgerton hunk Jonathan Bailey on Friday’s programme (April 1).
At one point in the show, TV star Dermot O’Leary was left with his head in his hands after Alison thought the actor was about to get closer to her on the sofa.
Alison laughed as she told Jonathan: “Oh I thought you were going to come over and show me then,” as the star – better known for his role as Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix smash hit – moved his leg into a more comfortable position.
While Dermot seemed to be a touch embarrassed with his co-star’s actions, fans on Twitter went wild hailing Alison as a “legend”.
“P***ing myself at Alison’s reaction to everything Jonathan Bailey is doing, because SAME GIRL,” laughed one person.
“Alison Hammond is f***ing hilarious absolute legend,” giggled another.
A third agreed: “Alison just makes me smile and laugh so much. She’s just so likeable.”
A fourth comment read: “Alison: soooo…. back to the shakey shakey,” along with an abundance of laughing emojis.
While another said: “Alison Hammond looking dreamily at Lord Bridgerton.”
During the hilarious snippet, Alison and Jonathan – who is gay – were talking about details regarding steamy Bridgerton scenes.
Jonathan explained that three cushions would be used to keep a safe distance between actors.
He grabbed some pillows to position between them, with Alison staring lovingly at him as he did so.
Following a brief break, Alison was then shown in a warm embrace with Jonathan as the pair began to dance Bridgerton style together on the show.
As the music played the twosome swayed from side-to-side with Alison grinning from ear-to-ear.
She told Dermot: “The best day of my life.”
The former X Factor host shot her a look, hitting back with: “Normally we ask for a picture but that escalated quickly.”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am.
