Fans of Doctor Who were “in tears” minutes into Jodie Whittaker’s final episode portraying the iconic role of the Time Lord on BBC One.
In Jodie’s final episode as Thirteenth Doctor, she has to fight for her very existence against her deadliest enemies: the Daleks, the Cybermen and her arch-nemesis, the Master.
Emotional fans began “crying” as the show started, with one writing: “I’ve already started crying when the lady on Strictly said staring Jodie for the last time.”

Someone then quoted what was said prior to the episode starting: “The Doctor will never be the same again,” while adding: “ALREADY CRYING.”
A third person then tweeted: “It’s only been on 15 minutes I shouldn’t be crying this much already.”
While a fourth said: “is it normal to start spontaneously crying when you see Ace and Tegan back in doctor who for the first time in years, despite the fact you knew it was coming? #DoctorWho.”
“I’m ready to cry my eyes out #doctorwho but soooooooo excited to see the 14th doc appear arghhhhhhh #ncutigatwa,” chimed in a fifth.

The explosive farewell saw a group of much-loved favourite characters return, including Tegan (Janet Fielding), Ace (Sophie Aldred), Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) and Vinder (Jacob Anderson).
As well as all of the above, The Master portrayed by Sacha Dhawan returned, while The Doctor and Yaz (Mandip Gill) face a huge triple threat.
The Fourteenth Doctor has been confirmed as Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa.

And as well as this new series, Doctor Who is also marking its own 60th anniversary in 2023 with a series of specials.
Russell T Davies will be returning to the series, along with some fan-favourite actors and actresses.
The Tenth Doctor played by David Tennant and his sidekick Donna played by Catherine Tate will return for the 60th anniversary next year.
