Elvis Presley's 'secret children' claims – bombshell book, 'Elvis Jnr' and court battles

Lisa Marie Presley is Elvis Presley’s only daughter – but did you know that a number of people have claimed that they are also the music icon’s children too?

Throughout the years a number of bombshell claims have been made by people who have said their parents had relationships with the King Of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

However, none of these claims have been proven with DNA evidence and have not been accepted by Elvis’ family – nor have any public comments been made by Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley.

Elvis Presley Jnr

One man called Elvis Presley Jnr claimed he was the son of the singer, saying that his mum had a fling with Elvis while making the 1961 film Blue Hawaii.

The Daily Express reported that his website claims: “He [Elvis Presley Jr] is the son of the late Elvis Presley born out-of-wedlock, unbeknownst to Elvis, on December 24, 1961 in Gary, Indiana the result of a liaison between Elvis Presley and Angelique Delores Pettyjohn, a young actress who was an extra in the film Blue Hawaii.”

It adds that he supplied documents, sworn testimonies and additional evidence to allow “him to be recognised as Elvis Aaron Presley Jnr”.

His website states that “he applied for and was granted on January 21, 1985 the legal right to bear the name Elvis Aaron Presley, Jr by the United States Federal Court system” – a name the performer continues to use today in his role as an Elvis impersonator.

Despite this, the documents and any DNA evidence have not been made public to prove the claims that Elvis is his father.

Bombshell book claim

Are You Lonesome Tonight? claimed that Elvis had a secret daughter

Another bombshell claim occurred when author Lucy de Barbin wrote a book called Are You Lonesome Tonight? in 1987.

In the book, Lucy claimed that her daughter Desiree Presley was from an alleged 24-year affair with Elvis Presley – although these claims have never been confirmed.

During a 1987 interview with The Washington Post, Lucy claimed that she kept the news of Desiree’s birth from Elvis until 1977 – the same year in which the King died.

She said she was “so afraid of what was going to happen” if it got out.

“I thought if one person found out, everybody would know,” said Lucy, adding: “I just said things like, ‘I have a wonderful secret to tell you’ and ‘Her name is Desiree,'” things like that. And he said, ‘I hope what I’m thinking is true.'”

However similar to Elvis Presley Jr, no DNA evidence has been released to prove the claims that Desiree is Elvis’ daughter.

Court battle

In 1989, a woman called Deborah Presley claimed that she was Elvis’ daughter.

According to an interview with Women’s Day Australia, published in 2018, Deborah gave an interview about her claims.

In it she claimed about how Elvis and her mother reportedly met, saying: “It spans from spring 1954, when my parents [Barbara and Elvis] first met, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“My father was 19 and undiscovered, and my mother was 14. They met at a recording studio.”

More than 20 years prior to this interview, Deborah is reported to have taken her claim to the court in 1989, where she asked to be named as co-heir to his fortune.

However, the court did not grant her request.
