“So in between every scene I ran round the set and jumped up and down right before action was called.

“I did this to make myself out of breath and sweaty and tired so that I could really feel the exhaustion from what was actually happening.

“I’ve got to say it did work and I’m definitely gonna use it in future.”

The actress revealed she also researched about labour and birth before shooting the scenes.

She explained: “As soon as I was told about the story I immediately started my research. I watched young teen births as that was what my story was based mainly on.

“I used many different websites to find out specific feelings and emotions when giving birth.

” I like to really use my research and prep to my full extent, so I was researching for most of the year really.”

Daisy went on to add that she’s “extremely honoured” to be a central part of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary storyline.

Despite it being 10 years ago, she also remembers the 40th anniversary special.

She said: “I think I was 8 when we filmed the 40th anniversary and I’d just been on the show for under a year and I was told it was a live episode.

“I was so excited and we had a full two months of rehearsals. It was so exciting and definitely something I’ll always remember.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7.30pm
