Emmerdale chaos as Kim and Harriet left for dead as Amelia in labour alone during storm

Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary celebrations are well underway and fans were left on the edge of their seats at the end of Sunday (October 16) night’s episode as two characters were left fighting for their lives.

To mark five decades since the soap began, ITV aired a special hour long episode which has no doubt kickstarted a series of tragic events set to unfold in the next week.

At the end of the episode, Kim and Harriet lay lifeless on the floor following an explosion caused by lightening striking Harriet’s quad bike.

Both characters were thrown backwards during the catastrophe, with Kim hitting her head on a stone as the episode ended in severely dramatic fashion.

Harriet was stuck underneath her quad bike

A storm hit the Yorkshire Dales as Kim Tate (Claire King) prepared to marry Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), but not before she taunted Harriet Finch (Kathrine Dow Blyton) at winning his affections.

Meanwhile as Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) went to meet Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) for a picnic, she was caught in the beginning of the storm and went into labour.

On the top of a cliff, Amelia managed to get through to her dad, Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) to tell him she was stranded and about to give birth, with several residents aiding in the search.

In a frantic search for the terrified mum-to-be, Harriet took a quadbike headed out to find the teen, meanwhile Kim got on her horse and prepared to do the same.

In the midst of blistering weather, a tree fell into the path of Harriet who was thrown from her quadbike.

While it appeared she was okay, the quad bike then plunged into the ravine and landed directly on the former police woman.

Stumbling upon Harriet, Kim jumped off her horse and dragged her from the wreckage.

But now disaster has struck, will anyone come to their rescue?
