Geordie Shore's Ricci reveals secret reason he can't go on I'm A Celebrity

Ricci Guarnaccio has revealed the odd reason as to why he isn’t allowed to sign up for ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The DJ and producer famously appeared on MTV’s Geordie Shore between 2012 and 2013 before returning in 2016 but it appears his time on the show has closed doors for him.

Ricci, 35, has appeared on several reality shows including Ex On The Beach but while he’d love to head into the jungle, he claims one show has put a stop to this.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, he claimed: “Because I’ve done Celebrity Big Brother, I’m not allowed to do I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

“That’s the rule apparently, it can be the other way around.

“That being said, the Australian version of I’m A Celebrity, Charlotte has done it, I’d love to do it.”

He continued: “I’m at that point in my career where I want them shows where it’s going to be fun and different instead of partying and drinking.

“I want to be able to look back and think ‘You know what, Geordie Shore was great, Ex On The Beach was great, Celeb Big Brother was great’ but I want them shows where it’s kind of me even doing the SAS stuff.

“The I’m A Celeb stuff would be amazing, I’d dig my teeth in and absolutely thrive, I’d absolutely love that hopefully next year but it’s definitely one I’m looking out for.

“The UK one is tough because I’ve done Celebrity Big Brother.”

Ricci is riding high following the release of his latest single, Gotta Let You Go, one of his favourite songs.

Discussing the track, he said: “I’ve put blood, sweat and tears into it, I really love the track, it’s got that summer anthem.

“I’ve sat on it for a while because I’ve got a few more tracks with the label but covers really seem to take well because people know them.”

Elsewhere, Ricci went on to reveal that his Geordie Shore fame allowed him to earn “loads” from nightclub appearances and television deals across the globe.

He explained: “When I came back from Australia, I did just under 80 PAs over there and I was run ragged.

“I was overweight because I’d been travelling, I did Ex After Dark with MTV, I did a movie, I was run ragged for an entire.

“We [my management] and I sat down and I was like ‘I can’t continue to do that year in, year out, my body was knackered, even though I made a fortune, it was unviable moving forward.”
