Gillian McKeith 'didn't have blood tests' for I'm A Celeb amid Olivia Attwood exit

Gillian McKeith’s daughter Skylar has rclaimed that the 2010 I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! campmates “didn’t have blood tests” like Olivia Attwood.

At the start of this year’s series, Love Island star Olivia Attwood was pulled out of the jungle for blood tests after pre-show tests flagged low blood sugar – but now it seems that this hasn’t always been the procedure.

In 2010 Gillian McKeith was a campmate in the jungle alongside the likes of Shaun Ryder and Stacey Solomon.

And now Gillian’s daughter, Skylar, has revealed a little known fact about how the show worked 12 years ago.

When her mum fainted during a live BushTucker Trial, Gillian’s daughter was worried for her mum’s health – and questioned if giving Gillian more food might have helped.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Skylar claimed that ITV bosses “didn’t test anyone” in the 2010 series.

“They didn’t test anyone, not like, to my knowledge,” she revealed, confirming: “they didn’t [do that] back then.”

When asked if she thought a blood test might have prevented her mum from fainting, she agreed and said: “Then they would have seen though she’s deficient in whatever you know, because of the lack of food so maybe they would have given her some more food. I’m not sure.”

Speaking of Olivia’s shock exit, Skylar said: “It was a surprise that Olivia left. I was looking forward to watching her on it,” adding that she hopes she’s doing okay now.

The Love Island star spoke to MailOnline after her exit, following on from her being rushed to hospital after a routine blood test “which all the jungle campmates undergo randomly throughout the show”.

The test suddenly showed that she was “dangerously anaemic” and that she had “low sodium and potassium levels”, which were said to have prompted ITV staff to get her to the hospital as soon as they could.

After having tests, she was given a clean bill of health which left Olivia questioning if the low results were “faulty”.

But despite the all clear from the doctors, ITV made the decision to not let her re-enter the camp.

Daily Star has contacted ITV for comment.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly on ITV1 and ITVHub.
