Golden Globes 2022: Full list of winners as Squid Game star wins at impressive age of 77

The Golden Globes Awards – which honours the best of TV and film – is known for its glitzy red carpet and a televised ceremony bursting with A-listers and high-end fashion looks.

However, this year’s event was very different, with no big broadcast or celebrities and the winners just being announced on the Golden Globes’ website.

The awards’ President Helen Hoehne told Sky News that it was a choice to have a stripped-back event this year and that nominees were not invited to attend.

She explained that: “We’re taking a lot of precautions because of Omicron.”

Some of this year’s winners who have bagged themselves a win include Billie Eilish, Will Smith and Andrew Garfield.

Meanwhile, Squid Game star O Yeong-Su won Best Supporting Actor in Television for his role as Player 001 at the impressive age of 77.

He is the first Korean actor to win an award in Golden Globes history, and beat the likes of Kieran Culkin, Brett Goldstein and Billy Krudup to win the honour.

Back in October, O-Yeong Su revealed how much Squid Game had changed his life, saying: “I feel like I’m floating on air. It makes me think, “I need to calm down, organize my thoughts, and hold myself back right now’.

“So many people have been contacting me, and because I don’t have a manager to help me, it’s hard for me to handle the volume of calls and messages I’ve been receiving. So my daughter has been helping me.’

“Things have changed quite a bit. Even when I go out to a cafe or somewhere like that, I now have to be aware of [how I appear to others]. It’s made me think, ‘Being famous is tough, too.'”
