I'm A Celeb fans 'expose' Matt Hancock's 'real motive' as he heaves in grim trial

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! fans are sure they’ve uncovered Matt Hancock’s secret motive for appearing on the show.

The former Health Secretary made waves on Friday night’s episode (November 11) as he took on the grisly eating trial, The Cucaracha Cafe, alongside Boy George.

George cheekily told Matt he’s “never voted Tory”, as Matt clapped back: “That’s no surprise, George.”

But as Matt seems to be getting both viewers and his co-stars onside, after insisting he wants to show the “human” side to politicians at the heart of reality TV, fans think they’ve rumbled another reason for his stint.

Some think he is vying to be Britain’s next Prime Minister and is hoping to restart his political career by atoning for his mistakes during the Covid-19 crisis.

One avid viewer took to Twitter to theorise: “Matt Hancock is deffo only doing this so he can run for PM next election #ImACeleb.”

As another echoed: “Everyone was so angry 2 days ago. I’m now expecting Matt to be crowned king of the jungle and then be voted our new PM when he comes out. That’s how quick this country changes its tune.”

Someone else echoed that Matt is playing a “very clever game” after insisting he wanted to “raise awareness of dyslexia” in the jungle, but hasn’t mentioned it once.

Matt Hancock and Boy George were left retching over their ‘meals’

They penned: “Matt Hancock is playing a very clever game – who would have thought that the best way to raise awareness of dyslexia was to not mention it at all?”

Writing for The Sun ahead of his jungle entrance, Matt outlined his main reasons for entering camp, explaining: “It’s our job as politicians to go to where the people are — not to sit in ivory towers in Westminster.

“There are very few places people will be able to see a politician as they really are.”

Matt later faced a Witchetty grub and a gruesome smoothie

He went on to add: “I want to use this incredible platform to raise awareness, so no child leaves primary school not knowing if they have dyslexia.”

It comes after Matt and George were forced to scoff various disgusting dishes for the BushTucker trial, with Matt facing camel penis, sheep vagina and cow’s anus.

Boy George had to eat fermented plums and vomit fruit – and both were left “feeling sick” afterwards.

Though George started out confidently, he was soon left retching as he said of the plums: “The taste. They taste like perfume. Like I am being poisoned. Really disgusting – but I can eat anything.”
