72 complaints were submitted to the broadcast regulator, followed by 737 between the 12th and the 14th November.
Ofcom were then inundated with similar complaints across various days as they were hit with 1,159 Ofcom complaints in the week between November 8 to November 14.
Fans who have been watching at home have regularly mentioned their plans to complain to Ofcom about a number of things taking place within the jungle.
While many viewers have shared their frustration at Matt being in the jungle in the first place, some took to Twitter on Sunday night to complain about “bullying” antics on camp.
On Sunday, 627 complaints were issued to the broadcast regulator while fans at home complained that it appeared like Matt was being “bullied”.
It took place the same day that Matt was crowned camp leader and some fellow campmates shared their feelings quite clearly.
Boy George sang a song featuring lyrics saying he will “never” support a tory while Corrie’s Sue Cleaver said she wanted to plan a “revolt” against Matt.
Matt, who made Charlene White his deputy, took it all on the chin but fans were not as happy with the comments.
Viewers at home dubbed the scenes “bullying” as many revealed they were planning to complain to Ofcom following the subtle digs.
There still remains a lot of tension from the public following the controversial decision to put the former Health Secretary in the jungle.
Some people have even started a petition through website 38 degrees which ultimately resulted in a plane being flown over the camp with a large banner attached.
The 35 metre banner read Covid Bereaved Say Get Out of Here! and was flown at the ITV show’s base camp on the NSW/QLD border in Australia.
Although it’s unconfirmed whether the banner was heard or seen by the campers, a noise complaint was issued during the flight, leading the pilot to believe it was spotted.
