Love Island Tasha's sweet act of kindness as she vows to donate prize cash if she wins

Love Island star Tasha Ghouri has revealed that if she wins the ITV dating competition, she will donate half of the prize money to charity.

The winning couple will receive £50,000 – but they have the choice to either split the winnings, or one person can take the money for themselves.

However before entering the Love Island villa, Tasha revealed that if she wins, she will donate half of the prize money to the charity The National Deaf Children’s Society.

Tasha, who is Love Island’s first deaf contestant and wears a cochlear implant, told press ahead of her villa stint: “If I did win Love Island my plan is to give 50% of it away to The National Deaf Children’s Society.

“I have raised money for charities before and it’s something I love to do and to give back.”

Before her Love Island appearance, model and dancer Tasha had spoken about being born deaf and that she “overcome a lot of obstacles” growing up with a disability she now calls her “superpower”.

She was also widely praised after being pictured in an ASOS campaign last year wearing her cochlear implant in the advertising campaign.

Her modelling snaps for ASOS were widely praised on social media, with one user saying: “It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a model with a hearing impairment, let alone an earring model and it’s so refreshing to see this kind of representation for people like me.”

Sense charity CEO Richard Kramer also tweeted: “Well done @ASOS for their positive decision to include Natasha, a model with a cochlear implant, on their website.

“We still have a long way to go but great to see such refreshing and empowering representation and embracing a positive inclusion agenda.”

As well as vowing to donating half of the prize money to charity, Tasha also revealed her plans for the other half of the prize money, adding: “The rest I would love to put into saving to hopefully find my own spot that I can call home.”
