Naomi Campbell, 51, poses for snap with baby girl as she breaks silence on motherhood

Naomi Campbell has posed with her baby daughter for the first time ever – and revealed her girl “wasn’t adopted – she’s my child”.

The iconic supermodel was snapped for the cover of British Vogue – and it is the first time the world has seen any photos of her baby’s face.

Campbell opened up about becoming a new mum at 50 – after announcing the arrival of her first child in May last year.

She also told the magazine that only a few people knew she had been planning to become a mum.

The cover of British Vogue’s March 2022 issue sees global superstar Naomi holding her baby girl affectionately in front of the camera.

The new mum looked radiant and gorgeous in the beautifully candid photo, captured by photographer Steven Meisel.

Ageless model Naomi looked all the rage as she styled her lush brunette locks in a natural, flowing afro that fell over her back.

The cover of the issue reads: “Naomi, Mother Figure”, with a quote from Naomi that ads: “I always knew one day I would have a child”.

When asked about her little girl, Naomi told Vogue: “She wasn’t adopted – she’s my child.”

The superstar also told the mag that very few people knew she was planning to become a mum.

She went on: “I can count on one hand the number of people who knew that I was having her. But she is the biggest blessing I could ever imagine. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

The global fashionista also reflected upon her groundbreaking career, and spoke about doing catwalks at 51 after walking for the likes of Versace, Alexander McQueen and Balmain and Lanvin.

Campbell says she still enjoys her job but it’s “nerve-wracking” as she’s walking alongside girls who are just 18 years old – and it turns out she’s not afraid to give the youngsters some advice.

She said: “I still enjoy it but it’s nerve-racking! Because I’m 51 years old walking with girls who are 18! It’s great to be with these young ‘uns at my age, but I have to say, at one of the shows I was like, ‘Come on, girls! Pick up your feet! Why are you walking so slow?’ I definitely feel like my time was more joyful. We smiled! We got to show off our personalities.”

She also spoke about becoming a mother figure to the next generation of black models.

She added: “There were lots of times when I would walk in the fashion shows, but I was never picked for the ad campaigns and it would hurt – it really hurt.

“I would have to suck it up and keep moving. Of course, it would have been great to have had that support around me back then, but I’m proud to see it happen now, I’m proud to see the diversity now.”

Last year, Naomi spoke about her baby girl for the first time – telling the world she’s a “dream child”.

In September, she told the BBC: “I’m really lucky I have a dream child. She’s wonderful.

“She’s very independent already, very smart, alert, sleeps 12 hours. She’s a good girl”
