Olivia Attwood has made a savage dig at Matt Hancock as she speaks out following her early exit from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

The former Love Island star released a statement after she was removed from the show on medical grounds after just hours in the jungle.

Acknowledging the exit and support she has received since, she also bashed the controversial MP Matt Hancock, who is set to join the series on Tuesday (Nov 8).

A statement shared on her Instagram story to her 1.9 million followers on Monday (November 7) read: “To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement.

“She dreamed of doing ‘I’m A Celebrity’ for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first(just as we knew she would).

“However for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has.

“You will hear the truth from Olivia in due course and she will be back on screen in the new year. PS Who is going to roast Matt Hancock now??”

The former Health Secretary is entering the camp late as a ‘surprise’ celebrity guest.

Opening the show on Sunday to welcome this year’s line-up host Dec acknowledged his late arrival, saying: “We’ll be rolling out the welcome Matt for them very soon,” and gave an exaggerated wink to camera.

Hancock – who was forced to resign from government after his affair with advisor Gina Colangelo was exposed – revealed he turned down an offer from ITV to take part in the reality show twice, before making a last minute U-turn last week.

The 44-year-old father-of-three is still an elected MP for West Suffolk, meaning he is being paid an annual salary to serve his constituents.

He said his constituents are “still my first priority” and revealed he has agreed with producers that he can be reached at any point during filming if any “urgent constituency matter” arises.

Despite his comments, viewers are demanding he forego his salary while he is in the jungle.

Almost six out of 10 (56%) said this is a bad career decision for the scandal-hit MP, while just 15% consider it a “good move” according to the new research by OnePoll.

I’m A Celebrity continues tonight on ITV at 9pm
