Phillip Schofield's Dancing On Ice replacement confirmed as he isolates for Covid

Phillip Schofield will be replaced on Sunday’s Dancing On Ice, as he continues to isolate after testing positive for Covid.

The host will be replaced by ITV regular Stephen Mulhern, who will present alongside Holly Willoughby.

Phil, 59, has been away from his other ITV job since testing positive, with presenters such as Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond fronting This Morning.

A source told The Mirror: “While Phil is off recovering, Stephen was delighted to be asked to step in to fill his shoes and present alongside Holly.

“He gets on with everyone so bosses are more than happy for him to step up. Everyone’s wishing Phil a quick recovery and hoping to see him back in his rightful place later this month.”

Phil hasn’t been the only one absent from his usual hosting gigs this week though, as Holly Willoughby missed This Morning to work on another television job – though she returned on Thursday alongside Josie Gibson.

Earlier this week, Phil broke the news to his fans that he had tested positive for Covid and therefore had to self-isolate.

He shared an image of a positive lateral flow test on Instagram, alongside the caption: “Well b******s.”

The silver fox also told fans: “Currently just a slightly sore throat.”

He later appeared on This Morning via a video link and gave viewers on update on how he was feeling.

Speaking from his London home, Phil said: “I’m fine.

“I don’t even have a sore throat now. I’ve sneezed twice and that’s it. I’ve got a slight temperature but that’s about it.”

Luckily, Rochelle Humes confirmed she had tested negative for Covid, despite sitting next to Phil on Monday’s episode.

He revealed his concern over Dancing On Ice then, saying he was “cutting it a bit fine for Sunday”.

Current medical advice means those who test positive for Covid can reduce the 10-day isolation if they receive a negative lateral flow test on both days five and six of their isolation period.
