Piers Morgan has opened up about his numerous famous encounters over the years, particularly when it comes to the Royal Family.
As the UK broadcaster celebrates an incredibly successful stint on journalism, he joined Brett Lee on his self-titled podcast on Tuesday as he discussed his lengthy career.
He recalled the time he met Queen Elizabeth II after attending an event at Windsor Castle and he confessed that after asking her a question, she responded with a cheeky quip.
Although he didn’t give a timestamp for the event, the 56-year-old praised Her Majesty as he stated the Queen was “fun” to be around.
Piers recalled being at Windsor Castle with the Queen and said they were looking over the gardens when a question popped to his mind.
He said on the podcast: “And I said, Your Majesty, can I ask you a question? Do you actually like the garden parties that you have to attend?”
Piers added: “She looked at me and said, ‘Mr Morgan, let me put it to you like this. How would you like 12,000 complete strangers trampling on your lawn?'”
With a laugh, Piers continued: “I thought it was a very good answer. I said, ‘I wouldn’t like that very much at all, Ma’am’.
“And she just raised her regal eyebrow. She was great fun.”
He confessed that he would love to interview Her Majesty if given the chance.
Piers has long shared his undeniable respect for the Royal Family, which was only left questioned when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wed.
In the years since the duo married and later stepped back as working members of the Royal Family, Piers has called for the pair to have their title stripped off them multiple times.
Just last year Piers was left reeling after Meghan sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a tell-all interview and talked about her experience with the Royal Family.
The former Good Morning Britain host slammed the Duchess of Sussex at the time, which ultimately resulted in over 50,000 Ofcom complaints and, after refusing to apologise, Piers left the morning show.
An investigation by Ofcom stated that Piers did no wrongdoing, but the host still did not return to GMB and has ultimately taken on new projects in the next big step for his career.
