Real Housewives of Cheshire’s Rachel Lugo has taken to social media, sharing her shock after her partner Nick was involved in a dramatic car crash.
The interior designer had been away from her Cheshire home when Nick had been making his way to Manchester Airport to collect her and her twin, Kate before the accident.
Moments before Nick was due to collect Rachel and Katie, a car ran a red light on the Manchester Airport Relief Road just minutes away from the terminal, causing a near-fatal accident.
Images show Nick’s beloved car smashed up with parts of the bonnet crumbling away.
Taking to Instagram, Rachel shared an image of the car alongside the caption: “Two minutes from the airport and a car ran a red light.”
A second image showed the car in more detail with the front airbags being deployed to protect the driver during impact.
The star said: “Couldn’t believe it when I got there… He loved his car but it did what it needed to do… It kept him safe, thank God and it’s only a car.”
She later commented: “Everyone asking if the other driver stopped… He did and he’s ok.”
Hours before the crash, the loved-up couple had been texting one another explaining how much they missed each other and were excited to reunite.
Since the terrifying incident, Rachel has said: “Nick would like me to pass on his thanks for all your lovely messages.
“There have literally been thousands… I’m so sorry if I don’t get a chance to reply to each one. Somebody was looking down on him that day, thank God.”
Rachel and Nick often keep their relationship private but he has appeared in several episodes of the hit ITVBe reality show alongside the businesswoman.
The pair met on a dating app, matching with one another after just 20 minutes of her profile being live on the app.
Speaking of Nick’s first message, she explained that he popped up with “hi” before she responded “hi chatty” – the pair met face to face the day after and their relationship appears to be going from strength to strength.
Rachel recently chatted to Daily Star about her dream interior design role, claiming she has her sights set on Buckingham Palace amid its renovation.
She said: “Get me in there, maybe they should change, a little bit more contemporary, something a little bit more up to date.
“Although it still is a beautiful building, you’ve got to work with the archicultural excellence.”
Daily Star has approached Greater Manchester Police for comment.
