Strictly Come Dancing viewers slammed the show on Sunday night (October 1) for its ‘fake’ results show after the first elimination week of 2022.
A similar complaint surfaced last year, with many fans complaining that the Sunday results show pretended to be shown live, but in fact was actually recorded on Saturday.
However, in 2022, despite the complaints, the format has been kept the same.

During Sunday night’s episode, host Claudia Winkleman and all the contestants spoke about ‘tonight’ and ‘Sunday’s results’ – even though the show was filmed on Saturday.
Viewers pointed out that due to spoilers leaking every week, they already know who’s going to be eliminated before the dance-off is shown on Sunday.
Jumping on Twitter, one frustrated fan wrote: “More rubbish from Strictly trying to pretend that tonight’s show is live. It isn’t!”
“Still don’t get why they need to treat us like idiots by keep repeating “So you’ve got past last night’s/Saturday’s show, how do you feel” – We all know it’s not live. Treat us like we have more common sense than that please.”
A second voiced: “How many years are they gonna pretend tonight’s show is live we all know it’s not.”
“@bbcstrictly worst kept secret. All recorded on Saturday night and yet pretend it’s now a Sunday live show!” said another.
“I love the fake live shows so much cause I can convince my family that I’m really good at guessing who goes but in reality i just saw the spoiler from last night,” a fourth added.
Sunday night’s results show saw Kaye Adams and her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington become the first couple to be voted off.
Following Saturday night’s live show, the judges’ scores were added to those from the previous week before being consolidated with the results from the public vote.
After receiving the fewest number of votes from the public, an intense dance off ensued which saw Kaye and Kai and Matt Goss and his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova battle it out for their place to remain in next week’s show.
But unfortunately it just wasn’t enough for Loose Women star Kaye who wasn’t saved by the judges after the intense dance off.
Although Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse all voted to save Matt and Nadia, head judge Shirley Ballas wanted to keep Kaye and Kai in the show.
