The Chase star Jenny Ryan left 'bit fuming' at Dean Gaffney after Valentine’s Day spat

The Chase star Jenny Ryan has detailed a bizarre encounter with former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney that saw her booted out of a first-class train cabin on Valentine’s Day.

The 39-year-old quizzer, who currently stars on ITV game show The Chase as the Vixen, opened up about an unexpected spat with the former soap star back in 2019, where she admitted he booted her out of her first-class cabin.

Tweeting about the incident on February 14 this year, Jenny posted: “J.Ry Trufax: I once spent Valentine’s Day on a train with Dean Gaffney. He gave me a cupcake with a heart on it.”

However, as she details the incident on the comedy_arcade podcast, it appears it wasn’t all cupcakes and hearts for the pair after she publicly bashed him and was left “fuming” when she found herself interrupting his filming schedule.

She explained: “I was travelling first class on a train and someone came in and said I had to move to a different carriage because some producers were using this carriage to film an advert.

She took to Twitter to call out the actor but he was quick to win over her affections after sending her a cupcake

“And I was all settled in I had got on the train early, I got my coffee, I was a bit fuming. I was in a bad mood – so I tweeted coz I looked out the window and realized the person that was filming was dean Gaffney.”

She went to explain that she took to Twitter to call out the actor but he was quick to win over her affections after sending her a cupcake.

Jenny added: “So I tweeted that I have just been moved out of my seat on the train because of Dean Gaffney, it got picked up, and after about an hour someone shuffled down the train and said ‘Dean’s really sorry that you had to move from your seat and he wants to give you this and it was a cupcake.’ Coz he had a tray of cupcakes coz it was his birthday and I had been mean to him.”

Jenny recalled the bizarre incident on Valentine’s Day two years after it happened

Tweeting at the time of incident, She wrote: “I have just been evicted from my booked train seat in favour of Dean Gaffney. Oh, the indignity.”

As her followers responded with rage, Jenny revealed that Dean – who was celebrating his 41st birthday at the time – had deescalated the spat and apologised as she reassured fans she was now “in a nice comfy seat just two carriages down.”
