Will Smith's ominous Instagram post hours before hitting Chris Rock at Oscars

On Sunday (March 27), before The Oscars 2022 ceremony, Will Smith posted a clip of himself and wife Jada Pinkett Smith getting ready for the event, followed by a series of fun selfies of the pair.

He captioned it: “Me ‘n @jadapinkettsmith got all dressed up to choose chaos.”

Just a few hours later, just after he hit host Chris Rock, the actor took to his own comments and penned: “You can’t invite people from Philly or Baltimore nowhere!!”

The actor was seemingly referring to himself and Jada as he was born in Philadelphia while wife Jada was born in Baltimore.

The comment came soon after the The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star stormed the stage at the Oscars and hit Chris Rock for an insensitive joke towards Jada.

Speaking on stage at the Dobey Theatre, Chris joked about Jada’s shaved head, saying: “Jada, I love you. G.I Jane 2, can’t wait to see it.”

The actress openly suffers with alopecia and was visibly displeased by the joke, rolling her eyes as it touched upon the sensitive subject.

After the smack, a furious Will fumed at his fellow actor to: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****** mouth.”

Will then made a joke about the Oscars punch in a comment on the post

The host fired back with “Wow, dude, it was a G.I. Jane joke!”

The night improved for Will as he took home Best Actor gong for his role in King Richard moments later.

In his acceptance speech, Will said: “Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family. In this time in my life, in this moment, I am overwhelmed by what God is calling on me to do and be in this world.

He later apologised to the Oscars and his fellow nominees regarding the incident, saying: “Love will make you do crazy things.”

Chris Rock seems to make a habit of aiming jokes at the pair as his last Oscars presenting gig saw him devote part of his monologue to them.

After Jada boycotted the 2016 ceremony that year due to lack of diversity, the comedian suggested that the actress wasn’t invited in the first place.

He then went on to target Will who missed out on an acting nomination that year for his performance in Concussion.
