America’s Got Talent fans have slammed one of the show’s latest acts after a man was set on fire in front of an audience which included plenty of children.
The ‘dangerous’ stunt was performed by Thomas Vu, and left judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel speechless.
Thomas introduced himself by explaining to the audience that he was just going to solve a Rubik’s cube, but rushed quickly off-stage for the other bit of his act.

He explained to the panel: “I came to show you guys a really cool way to solve a Rubik’s Cube.”
Sofia then giggled: “Do you think you can win AGT with your little cube? Oops, that sounded weird, but no, can you?”
Slathered in goo and a flammable substance, Thomas emerged again – only for two people to set his pants on fire.
His challenge was to solve the puzzle cube and avoid being burned to a crisp in 30 seconds. Thankfully the star did manage to solve the cube, and two crew members emerged from backstage with fire extinguishers to put out the fire.
Though Simon stood up to give Thomas a nervous clap, the other judges and fans at home were less than impressed, and worried that kids could attempt to copy the dangerous behaviour.
One Instagram user commented: “That was so stupid for him to do something like that knowing good and well kids are watching.”
As another fumed: “They shouldn’t have aired it AT ALL.”
While a third fan begged: “Don’t do that again, please!” and someone else wrote: “The poor kids watching!”
Other viewers were loving the act, however, as one gushed: “Breathtaking to the max!”
“Scary as hell, very brave of him,” someone else congratulated, as a third viewer said: “This act was insane. He needs to win!”

It comes after Simon was left in floods of tears after an emotional choral tribute to late contestant Nightbirde.
The Mzansi Youth Choir took to the stage to perform a rendition of Nightbirde’s song It’s OK.
The singer, real name Jane Marczewski, was forced to exit the competition early two years back during season 16, after she was diagnosed with cancer.
And she sadly lost her battle with the disease in 2022.
Simon handed the choir the golden buzzer, and couldn’t hold back the tears.
