Bobby Brazier’s stepdad wades in on ‘bitter’ family feud ahead of BBC Strictly final

Bobby Brazier ‘s stepdad Jack Tweed has given his thoughts on a bitter split between Bobby’s grandmother and his dad, Jeff Brazier.

Former EastEnders star Bobby, 20, is making his final preparations to try and win the glitterball trophy on Strictly Come Dancing, together with professional partner Diane Buswell. The pair will have to beat out Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and Bad Education actor Layton Williams to make it out on top.

But whilst Bobby and Diane are locked away in the midst of rehearsals, an ongoing feud is brewing between dad Jeff and gran Jackiey Budden. The altercations have been so bad that Bobby has resorted to asking Jackiey not to attend the shows for fear of an on-air bust-up between the two.

Now stepdad Jack, 36, told MailOnline that he has asked for everyone involved to “come together” and resolve their differences. He added that his late wife Jade Goody would be hurt at the amount of animosity between the pair.

Speaking to the newspaper, Tweed said: “Jade would not want [this]. She would just want peace for everybody. That is what is important.” He also insisted that he gets on well with everyone, including his stepkids Bobby and younger brother, Freddie.

The feud, while ongoing for years, laid relatively dormant in recent months, but reignited when Bobby won a National Television Award for his role as Freddie Slater on the BBC soap. Jeff could be seen sobbing in the crowd whilst Bobby picked up his gong, which Jackiey was not best pleased with – branding him a “c***”, and insisting she had not been invited by the family and had to buy a ticket herself.

Gran Jackiey has since admitted she flew off the handle with her remarks, adding that she had not anticipated the reaction to her outburst. Since then, the arguments have become more and more common and regular, with the pair often having awkward run-ins.

But instead of apologising for her comments towards Jeff, Jackiey doubled down, revealing that she had no problems in calling Jeff the expletive, as he had been one for “f***ing nine years”. She added that Bobby himself “doesn’t need that stress on his head – he’s my grandson.”

As the arguments continued to get worse, it was revealed that Jackiey had not been given any of the free seats in the studio the BBC offered to Bobby for friends and family. She was also ignored by the family when Bobby performed his emotional couple’s choice routine, which served as a tribute to his late mum Jade.

Jack went on to say that he is incredibly impressed with Bobby’s progress in the show so far. He gushed over his stepson, saying he still has: “that unique and cheeky personality that Jade had. He’s smashing it and I am very proud of him.”

However, Jack gave Bobby a stern warning to be on the lookout for “snakes” who would try to do what they could to get ahead in showbusiness. Tweed insisted he had said to the youngster that it will be “very hard to trust people”, and that he should be “careful” when working in the business.

The final of Strictly Come Dancing airs at 7pm on Saturday, December 16 on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.
