Corrie’s Lucy Fallon confirms return as she reunites with on-screen mum in glam snap

Lucy Fallon will be back on our screens as Bethany Platt as the TV beauty confirmed the news with an Instagram post.

The 27-year-old left Coronation Street in 2020 to pursue other projects, but went on to have her first child in January 2023. Three years on since her exit she has now confirmed that “Bethany is back”.

Taking to Instagram, Lucy joined her fellow soap stars at the Inside Soap Awards as she opted for a red cocktail dress paired with matching shoes and a glitzy clutch. The beauty pinned her hair back and donned a very glamorous makeup look, finishing with a swipe of red lippy.

As she shared the news on Instagram her followers quickly rushed to the comments to swoon over her. One user wrote: “No way!”, while another said: “Oh amazing.”

A third asked: “When is she returning?” while a fourth said: “We’ve missed you so much! Welcome back Bethany.” And it seems the fans aren’t the only ones who have been missing Bethany Platt.

Co-star Tina O’Brien, who plays Bethany’s on-screen mum, joined her at the event as the duo appeared closer than ever at the afterparty. The pair emerged out of some doors together as they both looked sensational during the celebrations.

Tina was seen wearing a pink cocktail dress and a matching bag with some silver heels as she wore her hair in curls while holding onto Lucy’s hand. The duo were celebrating the awards and while Corrie didn’t take home the award for best soap, it did land best showstopper with the acid attack storyline.

The event comes weeks after Lucy shared various snaps with members of the Corrie cast after all attending an event together – and reports that she would be coming back to the soap.

Bethany left for a magazine internship in London in 2020 just two years after her harrowing plot in a grooming storyline. But last month a source told The Sun that bosses reached out to her about the possibility of coming back and told her everything they had planned for Bethany.

Once she’d discussed it and arranged childcare she was able to confirm her return to the soap, with Lucy now confirming the news one month later.
