Dancing on Ice fans confused as 'nervous' star asked to do headbanger despite low scores

Dancing on Ice viewers were left scratching their heads during the latest episode of the ITV show.

Mollie Gallagher and her professional partner Sylvain Longchambon were the second couple to take to the ice during Sunday’s (February 5) instalment.

Their energetic cheerleading routine to Lizzo’s 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) was scored 26 points out of possible 40 by judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Despite being called “nervous” by Jayne, Christopher asked Mollie if she “wanted to be the first person to do the headbanger next week?” if she makes it through to the next stage of the competition.

Despite Mollie agreeing to take on the challenge, Christopher’s suggestion left viewers at home confused and they took to the comment to question it.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Mollie’s nerves this week rewarded by Chris telling her to do headbanger next.”

Another added: “Why would they tell the couple that looked like they struggled to do the headbanger next week?”

A third person said: “You were nervous this week so next week do the headbanger?”

While a fourth social media user said: “Is Chris trying to kill her?! Tells her that her skating isn’t great and then tells her to be the first person to do the headbanger?”

Chris’ headbanger suggestion for Coronation Street actress Mollie was not the only the aspect of the show which got people talking.

Fans were complaining minutes into the latest show when they noted how it seemed “frantic” and fast-paced.

In the first 10 minutes of the show, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield had spoken to viewers, welcomed each of the couples who performed a short spin on the ice, and then welcomed on not one but two acts to perform.

First up was Carley Stenson with her professional partner Mark Hanretty, before Mollie and Sylvain took to the ice.

While the couples took to the ice, fans took to Twitter to complain, with a few pointing out the “rushed” pace of the programme.

One viewer asked: “Fast start they in a rush?”

Another then noted: “Crikey Dancing On Ice has gone from being the most padded out show ever made to now being a frantic rush job.”

While a third said: Do you mind starting a little slower next week?

Dancing on Ice airs Sundays on ITV1 and ITVX
