Danniella Westbrook has revealed she suffered some horrific injuries during her Dancing On Ice stint.

Danniella said: “I broke three ribs, I ripped my tendon in my leg, and twisted my knee and popped it out of the knee cap.

“That was all in rehearsal but I managed to skate every week your skating partner is like your therapist. There are so many hats they have to wear.

“It’s like when you shoot EastEnders you spend more time on set than you do your own family.

“There were people who had a lot worse than me, the pro skaters skate with injuries all the time. To do on a show like that and not experience every level of it, I felt like I did get the full experience that way.”

She also exposed the truth about ITV show and said she some partners on her series knew each other for a “long time”.

Danniella told us: “A few people on the show had been skating and knew their partners for quite a long time, in my series.

“Also, some people have skated all their life as well and already knew what they were doing, as they had known they were going to be doing the show a lot longer than others.

“They [ITV] can’t stop people from having training if they know they’ve definitely got the job.

“If I had known that, I would have got a lot more time on the ice if I could but I still did it to the best of my ability. There was no animosity with anyone on there, we all had a really good time.”

She explained: “But it would just be like me going on Strictly – the same as Denise Van Outen – we were both in the same class at school at Sylvia Young’s and had been trained to dance.

“When you are an actor, you do have dancing and training abilities so it’s only natural some kids grow up learning to skate, so they could skate a lot better than we could.”
