Emmerdale fans are sure that more tragedy is in store for Lydia Dingle as rapist Craig is set to be caught out. In tense scenes during Thursday’s episode (October 5), Mandy Dingle accused Lydia of cheating on her husband Sam, with Samson furiously leaking rumours of their supposed ‘affair’.
Lydia lost it with Mandy, screaming at her: “I would never, ever cheat on Sam or do anything to hurt him. I have done everything I can to protect Sam so he doesn’t feel any pain!”
She stormed out before she could let slip the truth about what happened, but with Samson returning to his apprenticeship under Craig’s tutelage, fans think Lydia could do something drastic to escape her own pain. Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – one fan wrote: “At this point I can see Lydia killing herself with the way Samson is treating her and Mandy accusing her! This is horrible to watch [crying emoji].”
Someone else fumed: “Shouting ‘shut up Mandy’ at the TV, shouting ‘just tell her the truth Lydia!’ at the TV… gonna have a sore throat by end of tonight’s episode!!!”
Another viewer wrote: “Imagine how Mandy would feel if she found Lydia in danger or during an attempt…” As a fourth penned: “Lydia’s going to commit suicide at this point, f*** Mandy!”
But it looks like Craig could soon be caught out, as Kim stumbled across Lydia in the middle of the road and she let the truth slip. “I told him no, I told him!” a sobbing Lydia told her boss.
“Did he hurt you? Did he…?” Kim asked – and fans are sure Kim’s wrath could help bring Craig to justice for good. Lydia, however, began to doubt herself, telling Kim: “I’ve left it too late.” Terrified that even Kim thought the worst of her, Lydia was left in tears during her emotional confession.

Fans are certain it’s not Craig’s first rodeo, with one writing on X: “Craig has been attacking women for years… Lydia is definitely not his first victim… and as Kim said… it’s never too late to speak up.”
Another agreed: “Who thinks Craig has done this before? And gotten away with it? And who thinks his other victim(s) will get in touch with Lydia?” and a third said: “I think that it was rape the first time, too, when Lydia got pregnant with Toby. But that Lydia has blocked that out.”
