GMB turns tense as guest brands presenter 'so impatient' during heated clash

Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls was labelled “so impatient” by politician Jacob Rees-Mogg after he was accused of dodging questions.

The presenter, 56, joined forces with Susanna Reid as they kicked off the first show of the week and spoke to the 53-year-old MP about his new career move.

The former Tory cabinet minister has joined the cast of GB News to host his own programme – which is set to run at the same time as Piers Morgan’s Uncensored on TalkTV.

During their chat, Susanna asked if the MP would like to see Boris Johnson return – and Ed wasn’t satisfied with his response.

Susanna said: “Boris Johnson’s view on this is also really significant and he doesn’t seem to go away even though he’s no longer Prime Minister. Would you like him back?”

The politician responded: “Well I didn’t want him to go in the first place. I thought Boris Johnson…,” before Ed quickly interjected: “That wasn’t an answer to the question.”

“I’m coming to the question,” he exclaimed as Ed insisted: “You’ve got to answer the question!”

He added: “You’re so impatient!” to which the presenter responded: “No, no but I’m helping you here.”

Referencing his upcoming TV show, the host continued: “Think of this as a trial run of tonight.”

The MP clarified that they are in the middle of a conversation and you build up to the point you want to make.

Unable to let it go, the presenter chimed in: “But you’ve got to answer the question.”

“I am answering your question,” he insisted. “If you didn’t keep on interrupting we’d get to the question!”

Moments earlier, the Strictly Come Dancing star compared the MP to Matt Hancock – who recently set up his own TV company – following his move to GB News.

Rees-Mogg insisted his career path is nothing like the ex-politician’s because he’s not heading into the jungle and his move to TV still allows him to remain an acting politician.
