ITV fans spot ‘tension’ between Holly Willoughby and Ruth Langsford in ‘awkward’ handover

This Morning and Loose Women viewers noticed some tension between the two leading hosts on Tuesday’s (June 6) show.

Holly Willoughby handed over from This Morning as usual as a video clip of Ruth Langsford sharing what would be coming up on the show appeared on screen.

The pair spoke on what would be coming up on Loose Women, but fans were immediately distracted by “tension” they spotted on screen.

Taking to Twitter, one user wrote: You can tell the tension with hosts on ITV shows This Morning and Loose Women, that hand over…”

Another wrote: “Ruth not speaking to Holly…”

A third said: “The awkwardness between Holly Willoughby and Eamonn Holmes wife Ruth Langsford during the handover to Loose Women is excruciating.”

While a fourth added: “Another blank / awkward moment This Morning handing over to Loose Women.”

The awkwardness follows further fallout between the ITV presenters after a feud appeared to emerge after Ruth and Eamonn stopped being regular hosts in 2020.

Ruth, Eamonn, Holly and Phillip Schofield appeared to be close and would regularly celebrate each other’s successes over the years before a fall out.

After Phillip stepped down from his role on This Morning and later confessed to an affair he had with a younger man while working on the show, Eamonn hasn’t held back with his comments.

The former ITV star spoke on both Phil and Holly since the news was shared, so there could be some awkwardness between Holly and Ruth.

Ahead of Holly’s return to This Morning on Monday (June 5), Eamonn had a lot to say.

On GB News he said of Holly: “You think she’s got a big mouth? She won’t be using it today.”

Meanwhile, he called Josie Gibson, who has stepped in to join Holly, the “star of the show” as it marked Holly’s first show without a permanent co-host confirmed.

Holly confirmed that Dermot, Alison, Josie and Craig will be helping out in terms of heading up the show.
