Instead, presenter Kate Garraway took the reins and hosted the popular breakfast show.
And for Monday’s instalment – viewers were left raging to see it was Richard Madeley again who was hosting the show – alongside ITV favourite Ranvir Singh.
Taking to twitter, viewers shared their thoughts on the latest presenting shake up.
“Madeley on @GMB AGAIN. I cannot watch. Please stop this,” raged one person.
Another added: “Richard M being deeply unpleasant. Please get rid.”
“Gave it half hour but that’s enough of Richard for one day,” a third person said.
And other fans gushed over Ranvir, while calling for This Morning star Richard to be replaced.
“I love watching @ranvir01 in the morning, best presenter on TV but why are you sitting her with Madeley! Give us a break @GMB and get Ranvir on with @gordonsmart!”
Someone else gushed over Ranvir, writinf: “Well done Ranvir on GMB this morning.”
Echoing their thoughts, another person proclaimed: “Really enoy Ranvir presenting – she’s so relatable and down to earth.”
On the show, Richard and Ranvir discussed the recent theatre incident that saw police get called out after audience members “drunkenly” sang over actors on stage.
And Richard didn’t hold back when airing his thoughts on whether singing should be banned within the theatre.
“I’m sorry, call me an old fuddy-duddy, but silence is golden’ he told Ranvir.
“The only noise you make in the theatre is at the end when you clap or cheer, you don’t join in.”
