Katy Perry had chilling nickname for ex Russell Brand before allegations emerged

It has been revealed that Russell Brand’s ex-wife Katy Perry had a very odd nickname for the British comedian.

This comes after Russell has denied allegations of rape and sexual assault after Channel 4 and Sunday Times aired a joint investigation. The investigation published allegations of sexual assault from four separate women dating back to the height of his fame between 2006 and 2013.

Russell’s ex-wife and pop star Katy Perry has remained silent on the matter but UK journalist Piers Morgan has revealed that Katy once had a strange nickname for the comedian. Piers recalled in The Sun that Katy used to call Russell “Rasputin”.

Piers discovered Katy’s nickname for Russell in 2013 when he tried to interview the Firework hitmaker in 2013. Rasputin means “debauched one” in Russian and the historic was known for “seducing women”.

Piers revealed that he tried to interview Katy at a Vanity Fair event in Washington DC back in 2013. She refused to speak about the breakdown of her marriage but reportedly said: “Because you’ll get the truth out of me, and I’m just not ready to tell you the truth.

“In fact, I’m not sure I’m ready to admit the truth to myself. You Brits are all the same, so damn confident… Trouble is, I find that irresistible. I love Brits… Well, not all of them – not Rasputin, obviously,” Piers claimed she said.

When Russell discovered Katy’s nickname for him he reportedly said: “He was a pretty powerful bloke, he could manipulate folk with his eyes. I like Rasputin… he was all right, wasn’t he… a mad monk with magical, mystical powers, having it off with everyone, drinking and getting into fights.”

In the investigation by the outlets which aired on Saturday (September 16) night, one of the alleged victims, called Nadia to protect her identity, claimed that the comedian raped her against a wall in 2012 at his Los Angeles home. In a clip from the investigation, she claimed: “I’m stuck underneath the painting and he’s pushing up against me.

“He’s a lot taller than me. And he has that glazed look in his eye again. And I can’t move. And I told him, “Get off, get off”.

On Friday (September 15), Russell denied the allegations against him in a video statement, saying: “Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute. These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous.

“Now during that time of promiscuity the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual. It’s worth mentioning there are witnesses whose evidence directly contradicts the narratives these two mainstream outlets are trying to construct, apparently in what seems to me to be a co-ordinated attack. I don’t want to get into this any further because of the serious nature of the allegations but I feel like I’m being attacked and plainly they are working very closely together.”
