Fast and Furious director Louis Leterrier has confirmed that Paul Walker’s character is still “very much alive” in Fast X – despite the actor’s tragic death 10 years ago.
Paul, who was best known for his role as Brian O’Conner in the franchise, died aged just 40 in a car crash back in 2013.
His last appearance was a posthumous role in Fast and Furious 6 back in 2013 – but his presence has still been felt in the franchise through the use of CGI and his two brothers acting as body doubles.

And despite Brian’s retirement, he will still appear in Fast X.
Director Louis Leterrier told TotalFilm: “Well, Brian is very much alive in the world of Fast and Furious, and they’ve teased him a lot in the previous movies.
“In 9, we see the car coming. It’s something that is planned. This movie jumps back and forth between the past and the present.”
However, fans will only see Brian “in the past”, not in the present day.
Giving a nod to Paul Walker’s family, Leterrier added: “It’s something that everybody has to be on board with.
“The Walker family is still very much a part of this franchise, you’ll see how in this movie. It just has to be the right moment, the right tone.”
Philanthropist Paul died on his way home from a disaster relief charity event in 2013. He left with pal, professional driver Roger Rodas, in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, with Rodas behind the wheel.
The car was travelling at around 100 miles per hour before it hit a tree, a light post and then another tree before it burst into flames.
His friend Antonia Holmes: “It was engulfed in flames. There was nothing. They were trapped. Employees, friends of the shop. We tried. We tried. We went through fire extinguishers.”

It comes as Paul’s daughter Meadow Walker endorsed the new flick on Instagram last week, sharing a trailer as she wrote: “It has always been about family. #FASTX trailer drops 2/10.”
Fans poured into the comments section to praise her late dad, with one writing: “I’ve ever cared so much about an actor as I do about Paul Walker. Man, I miss that guy.”
Another echoed: “Your dad was an amazing human being!”
“I have a feeling Fast X is gonna make us all cry!” a third posted.
