Major Hollywood star is secret Strictly fan as he predicts 2023 finalists

One major Hollywood star has confessed they are a secret Strictly Come Dancing fan and has shared their thoughts on who they think will make it through to the live final.

He is best known for his infamous role as Thor’s brother Loki in many of the Marvel movies. But away from the cameras, Tom Hiddleston is quite the impressive dancer.

Despite his many work commitments, the 42-year-old movie star revealed he regularly keeps up to date with the beloved BBC One dance competition. In a recent interview on Radio 2, the award-winning actor shared his love for the long-running show as he gushed over each of the contestants.

Appearing on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Monday (November 20), Hiddleston confessed that he is yet to catch up with last weekend’s Blackpool extravaganza. But that hasn’t stopped the star from picking out his favourites in the competition.

He warned: “We are mad about it. It’s been difficult to determine who is gonna go all the way this year.” The radio host was quick to agree, adding: “It really is! There’s so many good ones.”

When the presenter asked him who his favourite contestants were, the actor was quick to stress that he doesn’t “know anything about ballroom”. Topping his list as the “most improved” was former Coronation Street star Ellie Leach.

He explained: “I think Ellie [Leach] is maybe the most improved? She’s extraordinary, it’s pretty amazing partnership.” Ball added: “There’s something about that partnership. Vito [Coppola], I adore.”

The Night Manager star went on to highlight West End star Layton Williams and former EastEnders star Nigel Harman, noting that they showed strong dance ability early on. He continued: “Obviously, Layton and Nigel came out of the blocks really fast and were very impressive.

“You’re like, ‘Well, these guys can dance’ you know? But then I think the judges have been a bit tougher on them.

“They’re like, ‘Well your technique in ballroom, you know, maybe you’ve got rhythm, but this is a ballroom thing’. Which I respect, you know, I don’t know anything about it, but it’s hard to see, I think.”

Following Angela Rippon’s exit last weekend, just six couples remain in the nail-biting competition. The episode saw Strictly move up north for the week where Ellie and Layton topped the leaderboard after scoring 39 points out of 40.
