Spice Girls ‘shared bed’ on tour and ‘dropped towels’ in racy prank on room service men

Spice Girls singer Mel B has revealed that she takes sachets of HP Sauce with her wherever she goes and once pulled a racy prank on tour.

The 48-year-old Wannabe singer said she never travels without a few sachets of the sauce and a bottle of chilli flakes to spice up meals. Speaking this week, the mum-of-three said: “I don’t go anywhere without taking sachets of HP brown sauce and chilli flakes.”

She also said all the Spice Girls – Posh, Ginger, Sporty and Baby – ended up sharing a bed when they went on tour. She said: “I pretty much travelled everywhere with the Spice Girls.

“We went to some amazing places, including Bali and Fiji, and we’d always all end up in the same room sleeping in the same bed even though we had a room each. Then the room-service guy would come in – usually it would be a guy – and one of us, often me would pretend to drop a towel and they wouldn’t know where to look. We were always getting up to pranks like that.”

HP Sauce was invented in 1870 by greengrocer Frederick Gibson Garton in Nottingham. It was registered as H.P Sauce in 1896 when MPs started using the sauce in the House of Parliament.

There’s no wonder claims of a romance between two of the Spice Girls emerged, with them sharing beds. It was previously reported that Mel had had a sexual relationship with bandmate Geri Horner.

Mel even admitted it on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories. Without giving too many details, she said: “She’s going to hate me for this because she’s all posh in her country house and her husband. But it’s a fact. It just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it.”

However Geri’s camp denied it ever happened. In a statement, Geri’s representatives said: “It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days… She would like you to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.”
