On Saturday (April 1), the daytime show’s official Instagram page paid tribute to the presenter as he celebrated his 61st birthday.
Accompanied by several snaps of Phil on the ITV set, the caption read: “Happy birthday @schofe, from everyone at #This Morning.”
This comes after it was revealed Phil’s absence from This Morning is set to continue for an extra few weeks.
On Monday and Tuesday, regular host Holly Willoughby was joined by Alison Hammond, with viewers gushing over the all-female pairing online.
For the third and fourth instalment of the week, the 42-year-old was paired up with The Masked Singer host Joel Dommett, with viewers once again hailing Phil’s stand-in.
Others were even campaigning for the I’m A Celeb star to be given a permanent role as one viewer wrote: “Joel needs to do this job permanently. #thismorning.”
Another said: “@joeldommett is the best thing to happen to #ThisMorning in a very, very long time! He made me laugh out loud more than once!”
A third wrote: “Wow I didn’t expect Joel Dommett to present with Holly Willoughby on today’s #ThisMorning but he did a great job huge well done to him and I would love him to be presenting again especially maybe with Alison gotta love Joel! :).”
A fourth even suggested Joel replace Phil all together as they shared: “Can Joel just permanently replace Philip on #thismorning?”
During an advert break on Thursday (March 30), This Morning revealed Friday’s regular hosts Alison and Dermot O’Leary would be replacing Holly and Phil for the two-week Easter holiday.
The pair’s break was already scheduled by ITV, however it means Phil is set to miss a total of three weeks before he returns.
