Titanic fans in hysterics as they only just notice how ‘fake’ one scene looks

Titanic is an iconic movie that fans can watch endless reruns of – but some fans are realising it doesn’t quite live up to the special effects of now.

One viewer was left in fits of laughter and took to TikTok after noticing just how “fake” one scene in the movie looked after a recent re-watch.

The scene that she was laughing at takes place just after the iconic ship sets sail for the US.

As the camera pans over the vessel before honing in on the captain, the viewer spotted things aren’t quite as realistic as they should be.

Taking to TikTok, a user named Jess shared the images and burst into laughter while doing so.

The fake scene was there in its entirety and Jess can be heard laughing away in the background saying: “It’s fake as. Oh God.”

She captioned the video: “I’ve seen Titanic a million times and only just now while I’m sick at home realised how fake this scene is.”

Fans have also taken to the comments section to laugh at the unrealistic CGI.

One user wrote: “It’s giving The Polar Express motion capture animation.”

Another joked: “Is this the new Sims 4 Titanic expansion pack.”

A third penned: “Ok I’ll go watch Titanic for the millionth time just to see this.”

Others defended the movie saying that the effects were good for the time the film was shot.

One said: “Not bad for 1997.”

The film is now available to stream on Netflix

Another commented: “Considering this was released in the late 90s, that’s pretty decent CGI!”

While a third penned: “Trust me when Titanic was in the cinema we never even noticed because back then this was cutting edge!”

Netflix added the iconic film to its website at the beginning of July giving fans a new way to catch the film.

It’s also still available to stream on Prime Video.
