Tom Daley’s husband Dustin Lance Black is facing trial accused of assaulting a BBC presenter in a nightclub bust-up.
It is claimed he threw a drink over model Teddy Edwardes – a host of BBC3 show The Big Proud Party Agency.
The 48-year-old screenwriter appeared via videolink at Westminster Magistrates Court yesterday where he pleaded not guilty to assault.

A trial date was set for August 8 and American Mr Black, who gave his address as Los Angeles, was given unconditional bail.
He allegedly got into a dispute with Ms Edwardes, 32, at Freedom nightclub in London’s West End in August last year. He was with Olympic diving gold medallist Tom at the time.
Black’s spokesperson said of the court case: “Mr Black was surprised and saddened to learn that after the other person involved in this unfortunate incident took responsibility and expressed remorse for a punch to the back of Mr Black’s head – which left him with a life altering concussion – a decision was made to now examine the matter of a spilled drink in a court of law.
“Of course Mr Black will respect the process, and in the meantime will continue to focus on being a loving father and husband.”
Mr Black grew up in a Mormon household and won an Academy Award for his 2008 film, Milk.
He met Tom, 28, who hosted celebrity diving show Splash!, in 2013 and the couple married four years later at Bovey Castle in the Dartmoor National Park.
Their first child was born via surrogate in 2018 and they announced earlier this month they have welcomed a second son.
