Veteran actor Peter Spellos has died at the age of 69 after battling pancreatic cancer.
The star appeared in the animated series of Transformers as well as the TV series American Dreams. He died in the early hours of Sunday morning (November 19) at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis.
His friend Jennifer Smith, who has attorney for him, confirmed his passing. She told TMZ: “He was loved and cared for and surrounded by people during his final days.”

Spellos was famed for voicing the character of Sky-Byte on the Transformers: Robots in Disguise animated series. He voiced the character for 39 episodes. But he also appeared in films and other TV shows.
Spellos appeared as Gus in the NBC show American Dreams and as Motorman in Men in Black II, which starred Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.
Peter’s brother James Spellos has revealed that he will be cremated and that fans will be able to offer their condolences. This is because his family are planning an online gathering to celebrate his life.
Fans wrote emotional tributes to the actor online. One on X said: “ky-Byte is one of my favorite characters in tfs! Part of that is because of his legendary voice in rid01. I’ll be honest I don’t know much about Peter Spellos, but his Sky-Byte performance was incredible. I’m sorry to hear of his passing. Thank you for bringing Sky-Byte to life!”
Another commented: “Awful news today that Peter Spellos, the voice of RID Sky-Byte, has passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Not just a TF celeb but a real part of our family like no other – a kind and brilliant guy who we’re all better for having had the chance to know.”
The actor, born in Queen’s New York, was a hit on the Comic-Con circuit and appeared in lots of anime shows. He voiced the character of Hitode in Naruto, Monev The Gale in Trigun, Gilliam in Outlaw Star, Zadam in Kikaider, and Cyberon and Eagle Riders.
He also Elmo in Married… with Children and enjoyed roles in ER and Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. He also turned his talents to video games as he voiced Roje in the Playstation 2 game Seven Samurai 20XX.
