Amanda Holden has opened up on the truth behind the changing looks of her Britain’s Got Talent co-star, Simon Cowell.
Simon’s face appears to have altered in recent years, prompting fans to question if he’s undergone a facelift procedure. The 62-year old has denied that is the case, however, and even laughed off suggestions last year after presenters Ant and Dec poked fun at his appearance.

“I think it’s hysterical,” he said. “I mean, it just makes me laugh. I haven’t had a facelift or anything. ‘I’ve had a bit of Botox or whatever, but nothing drastic. So when I hear about this stuff, honestly it does make me laugh.”
Now, Amanda has revealed she chooses to sit near him on the show’s judging panel purely for the benefit to her own looks – not because she is “fond” of him. The mum-of-two told Sofia Vergara on Heart Breakfast: “‘I sit closer to Simon because he has special lighting. I look 10 years younger. If you think it’s because I’m fond of Simon I’m not, it’s because he’s got better lighting.
Unsurprised by the revelation, 51-year-old Sofia explained that Simon receives the same treatment on America’s Got Talent too. Amanda then continued: “Simon is brilliant, when you’re sitting next to him, I play games, we play doodle games, we play hangman, do you play any games with him to keep him entertained. Because he gets bored quick in the bits where we’re waiting for other talent to come on stage.”
Britain’s Got Talent auditions were plunged into chaos on Wednesday, meanwhile, after police were called to deal with an intruder on set. The new series, which sees Simon, Amanda, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli on hand again to judge this year’s hopefuls, is currently being filmed at the London Palladium.
However, within a matter of hours a female member of the public was seen being led away by officers from the Metropolitan Police Service.
It is alleged the woman was caught attempting to “sneak” past security personnel into a restricted backstage area. A Met Police spokesman told the Express at the time: “Police were called at 1.23pm today to reports of a woman suffering a mental health crisis at Argyll Street, W1.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The woman was assisted by officers who made arrangements for her to be met by a family member. There were no offences.”
