BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans spot ‘feud’ between judges as Shirley slams hands on table

Strictly Come Dancing fans seemed to notice a potential spat brewing between judges Craig Revel-Horwood and Shirley Ballas as the pair consistently squabbled throughout the programme.

The star-studded show returned to our screens on Saturday night (September 28) for another action-packed episode. However, as the anxiety among the 15 celebrity contestants escalated, so did the tension among the judges.

During the broadcast, Shirley and Craig didn’t see eye to eye as they offered their critiques of each contestant’s dances. Yet, as Craig delivered his notoriously harsh comments, Shirley continually reminded him that it was only the second week.

The situation became particularly tense between the two judges when discussing EastEnders ‘ Jamie Borthwick and his dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas. After their rumba, Craig commented: “I felt it lacked connection.

“I felt it lacked an emotional connection between both of you! It felt like you were dancing by numbers,” reports the Mirror.

He then noted that he could sense they were overthinking every dance move, but it failed to “lift”. He stated: “I felt like we lost the story. I felt like we lost everything that rumba is about.”

However, Shirley retorted: “He’s got to start somewhere, it’s week two!” She slammed her hand on the table in front of her, exclaiming: “He can have a bit more flow!”

As things kicked off between the pair, Judge Motsi Mabuse stepped in and expertly calmed the tensions. Yet, the fiery clash didn’t go unnoticed by viewers who promptly headed to social media to vent their thoughts.

One spectator speculated: “I’d like to know what’s gone on backstage between Craig and Shirley because they seem to be at each other’s throats tonight.”

Another exasperated fan exclaimed: “Let Craig speak. So boring the way he keeps getting interrupted.”

A third chimed in: “I wish they would bring Arlene back Her and Craig were a great partnership on the judging panel – a judge who was not afraid to give criticism It’s 3 judges who are afraid to hurt feelings vs Craig.” (sic)

A further comment from another viewer read: “Why are the judges arguing so much this year? I wish they’d let Craig speak without all piling on him every time.”

Elsewhere, another fan said: “I wish Shirley would stop arguing with Craig, it’s not funny at this point. Are the judges arguing a little more than usual this year?”

Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC Iplayer.
