Best-looking James Bond villains of all time ranked – but Jaws doesn’t make list

DR. No is the best-looking of all the 104 Bond villains, a study has found.

A study analysed the facial features of all the villains who have tried in vain to kill 007 for 24 movies.

In the 25th movie, 2021’s No Time to Die, Daniel Craig’s 007 is killed by Lyutsifer Safin, played by Rami Malek.

Researchers applied the so-called Golden Ratio – a classical measure of good looks – to all 104 Bond villains.

The closer to the Golden Ratio, which judges beauty on facial measurements – where a face that is one-and-a-half times longer than it is wide is considered ‘perfect’ – the more ‘good looking’ a person is.

Boffins then ran the faces through image processing site OpenCV and ‘deep learning’ algorithm site MTCNN to find the best looking Bond villain.

Top of the tree was Dr. No, played by Joseph Wiseman in the 1962 movie Dr.No, who battles it out with Sean Connery, who notched up a Golden Ratio score of 7.5 out of 10, with 10 being the highest.

Of all 104 Bond Villains, just 15 were women, including May Day, played by Grace Jones in A View to a Kill in 1985, and Rosa Klebb, played by Lotte Lenya in 1963 movie From Russia with Love.

A spokesman for MyBettingSites.co.uk said: “We analysed all the villains according to the golden ratio of facial attractiveness.

“Machine learning techniques were applied to evaluate the facial aesthetics based on balanced facial proportions and symmetry of specific areas of the face.

“Dr. No came out top – but there was no place for Jaws in our top 10 – or any of the female baddies.”
