Beyonce’s daughter set for Hollywood debut as Lion King Mufasa trailer released

Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, is scheduled to hit the big time, with her 12-year-old daughter landing her opening Hollywood role in Mufasa: Lion King.

While Disney’s remake of the cartoon that captured the hearts of the public, certainly didn’t go down anywhere near as well with the critics as the original did, it undeniably proved a hit at the box office.

Rotten Tomatoes official website consensus reads: “The Lion King is a by-the-numbers retelling that lacks the energy and heart that made the original so beloved—though for some fans that may just be enough.”

However, having generated a whopping $1.663 billion, it comes as no surprise that Disney is keen to capitalise, and it’s played into the hands of Blue Ivy, who’s taking her first steps into the movie industry.

The aspiring actress will play Princess Kiara. On April 29, Disney released a trailer, which exhibits the kind of special effects the £200 budget went on. At the end of the teaser, bold writing flashes up on a black screen, saying: ‘Introducing Blue Ivy Carter’.

The Mufasa: The Lion King trailer arrived today

Her mum and dad worked hard to bag trademarks of their daughter’s name for an array of different things, including books, shampoos, video games, amongst many others.

By 2015, she began to showcase her singing skills, featuring as part of Coldplay’s choir for their song ‘Up&Up’ which took centre stage on their ‘A Head Full of Dreams” album. Five years later, she received the Soul Train Music Award.

In addition, she’s exhibited skills as a narrator, reading Matthew A. Cherry’s book ‘Hair Love’. The tale depicts an African American father’s first time doing his little girl’s hair.

And now she’s making her Disney debut, which will likely springboard her into a plethora of future roles. The motion picture will be released on December 20, 2024, in the US and the UK.
