One legendary British actor is giving up sex scenes for good – because he’s “had his willy out too many times”.
Rafe Spall, son of Harry Potter star Timothy Spall, made his name in Netflix shows like Black Mirror and films including Hot Fuzz. Throughout his career, he’s filmed at least 18 sexy scenes. Now, though, he’s had enough.
The father-of-three opened up on the Where There’s a Will, There’s a Wake podcast about the future of seeing his naked body on-screen. He said: “That’s the thing about sex scenes in general, isn’t it, people are always very curious about sex scenes.

“I’ve actually said no, I don’t want to do them anymore. Because I’ve done so many. Like, loads, too many. People always go, ‘Oh, is it nice?’ No! It’s nice if you like the idea of 50 blokes watching you pretend to have sex. If that’s your thing…”

He joked: “But also, I’ve had my willy out too many times.” He branded it “outrageous” that his naked member has made several appearances online on a database of celebrity nudes.
Rafe added: “You can probably look it up on that thing called the ‘celebrity nude database. Apparently it’s a thing where everyone who’s ever been naked on telly is on it. It’s outrageous.”
In 2021, he admitted to appearing in at least 18 sex scenes, asked by Jay Rayner on the Out to Lunch podcast if his nude scenes in The Chatterley Affair – in which Rafe’s genitals and bum are visible for all to see – was his solo naked screen appearance.

He replied: “No! I couldn’t sleep one night and I counted my sex scenes. I have done about 18 at last count. I have had my willy out a lot – too much! I’ve stopped. I’ve stopped. I’m not doing it any more. I’ve got kids in the playground going – they are the age when kids talk to them about it.
“It is not good. It is wholeheartedly inelegant to get your willy out!” he quipped. Adding: “You do a sex scene and this is how I pay my mortgage. This is what I exchange for cash.”
But it hasn’t been all bad, and one of Rafe’s sex scene highlights was actually with Britain’s Got Talent star David Walliams. He revealed: “A high point of the sex scenes in my life – my number one was probably with David Walliams. He played Frankie Howerd and I played his life-long lover Dennis.
“David has become a great friend. He is a really lovely, loyal person. But part of his bit in life is being flirtatious. That is part of his Schick. And being very fluid across the genders. That is part of his thing.

“But when it came to the sex scene he was all scared. I had done so many of them. And the ones with David. I w**ked him off and I had to kiss him and we had to do all sorts of things. I had to get in the bath with him.
“And when you do a sex scene with a woman I am always acutely aware that you are in a room with predominantly men so all my concentration goes into making it as comfortable for her. But with David it was like, ‘f***ing come here you big dish. Get over there…!’
“But I think I’m going to be hanging those boots up. I think I’ve had enough of that sort of thing. To be fair, I don’t get asked that much any more!”
