Celebs Go Dating fans fume as they question Lauryn Goodman’s whereabouts on E4 show

Lauryn Goodman has been forced to issue a statement after fans questioned why she was missing from the new series of Celebs Go Dating – despite being announced as a cast member.

The 33-year-old influencer had her followers buzzing with excitement after she was confirmed as one of the line-up alongside Made In Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps, Married At First Sight’s Ella Morgan, Love Island’s Chris Taylor, singer Jamelia, Coronation Street’s Helen Flanagan and Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb.

But on Monday night’s episode (August 19), Lauryn was noticeably absent from proceedings. The premiere saw the celebs glammed up and mingling at a Bridgerton-themed masked mixer event.

While the celebrities went mask-free, their non-famous dates had their faces concealed in an effort to guide the celebrities in making connections based on personalities over looks.

Fans were quick to call out that Lauryn was a no-show, and flocked to social media to air their confusion. Some even slid into her DMs directly asking for answers, reports the Mirror.

One fan message, shared publicly by Lauryn, read: “Are you not on Celebs Go Dating? I thought you were.” Another asked: “When will we see you on Celebs Go Dating? Gutted you aren’t in tonight’s one?! That’s all I watched it for.”

Announcing the reason why, Lauryn revealed she was never meant to appear in the first episodes. She told her followers in a statement: “Ahhh sorry! I come in halfway through, I’ll let you know when I’m set to enter.”

It seems Lauryn Goodman really hit it off with Love Island hunk Chris during filming on the show. In an exclusive chat with OK! Magazine, Chris revealed: “Lauryn Goodman was breastfeeding, she offered me the opportunity to taste the breast milk, which I did. And then I also made Tristan do it.”

Before stepping into the show, Lauryn opened up in her pre-show confessional, stating: “I am ready to put my past behind me and move forward, so I am hoping the agents can find me someone I really vibe with and that could potentially blossom into something more.”

The buzz around the show hints that Lauryn is determined to introduce the world to “unveil the real person behind the headlines” while on a quest to find her “perfect match”.

Celebs Go Dating continues on Tuesday at 9pm on E4.
