The Jeremy Kyle Show was a staple of daytime TV which brought cheating rows and other scandals into your living room.
The controversial ITV programme saw everything from family feuds to heartbreaking drug abuses. The show aired its final episode on this day (May 10) in 2019 following the death of a participant, 63-year-old Steve Dymond, just one week after his episode was filmed.
The confrontational talk show, which had been a regular fixture in the TV schedule since 2005, was axed for good following calls for it to be cancelled from MPs and members of the public. But what fans may not know is that several celebrities also appeared the show over the years to share their private troubles.

Five years after the programme was stripped from our screens, Daily Star has taken a deep dive inside all the famous faces who took part on the chat show.
Danniella Westbrook
Danniella Westbrook has struggled with drugs since she was 14 after she shot to fame as Sam Mitchell in EastEnders. She was so badly hooked on the drug that she took 5g a day while pregnant with her son Kai and spent upwards of £250,000 on cocaine.
The starlet abused drugs so badly that her septum – the cartilage that separates the two nostrils – fell out. She managed to avoid drugs for 14 years but relapsed in 2014, when she sought help from the Jeremy Kyle Show.
The mum-of-two has always been very candid when it comes to her past struggles, including her well-documented battle with drug addiction. And she certainly stayed true to herself during her appearance on The Jeremy Kyle Show.
She was brutally honest at times, even breaking down in tears as she revealed she’s even done “a line of coke” whilst giving birth. She confessed she’d do “eleven bags of cocaine a day” if she had the money.
Unfortunately, the star relapsed again in 2017, 2019 and 2021. But it appears she is now on the straight and narrow with her new sober lifestyle.
Jeremy McConnell
One of the most recent reality stars to appear on the show before it send was Jeremy McConnell. The TV star famously broke down in tears as he opened up about his relationship with Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis.
The couple first locked eyes when they were thrown into the Celebrity Big Brother house together back in 2016. The pair instantly hit it off and soon became an official couple weeks after they left the house.
They went on to welcome their son Caben together before they split in a messy separation. It’s fair to say Jeremy Kyle didn’t waste any time asking the hard questions on the show as he quizzed the TV star on why he hadn’t seen their son in eight months.
Jeremy asked the TV star how he could call himself a good dad as he drilled into the depths of their relationship on air. The star also spoke about losing his dad just 12 months earlier, as well as the passing of his mum, brother and sister all within months off each other.
Blake Fielder
Blake chatted to Jezza in 2013 as his first TV interview after the tragic death of his ex-girlfriend Amy Winehouse. The couple were married for two years and in that time, the pair regularly used Class A drugs.
Her former flame certainly didn’t hold back in the explosive interview about his relationship with the late singer. The former drug addict shared his regret on the show and admitted that he introduced the musician to hard drugs all those years ago.
Speaking of their heroin and crack use, he told viewers: “Out of maybe a six or seven-year relationship that me and Amy had on and off, there was drug use for about four months together.
“We used heroin together as addicts for like four months, then I went to jail. Then it got a lot worse while I was in jail and then when I came out of jail I was told that if I loved her, I’d divorce her and set her free and I did.”
Nikki Grahame
Arguably one of the most emotional episodes of the show’s history was when Nikki Grahame joined the TV presenter to discuss her battle with eating disorders. The Big Brother star rose to fame when she entered the famous house during the seventh series in 2006.
The Watford-born star immediately won the hearts with her appearance, going on to take fifth place. She made several other appearances on later series of the show. During her time on the Jeremy Kyle Show, she reflected on her lifelong battle and revealed she nearly died due to anorexia when she was just 12 years old.
At the height of her suffering, Nikki weighed just 4st and she recounted how she was sedated and forced fed to get her back to a safe weight. The TV personality sadly passed away on April 9, 2021
Kerry Katona
The former Atomic Kitten has always been open about the problems in her life with her fans, and she certainly didn’t shy away from her struggles on The Jeremy Kyle Show. During her appearance, she discussed her demons and “cocaine shame”, giving viewers a better understanding of the addiction she was battling.
Jeremy showed his ability to deal with sensitive topics on the show as they talked about the highs and lows of her career. The hitmaker confessed that she felt like a “failure” on the show following the breakdown of her marriage to Bryan McFadden.
Following her split, the blonde beauty admitted that she had started to self-harm as she spiralled into a depression. Thankfully, the mum-of-five was able to pull herself out of that dark place and is now a hugely successful model on the adult site, OnlyFans.
Coronation Street cast
This one might be cheating, but we had to include the hilarious TV crossover as the cobbles came to The Jeremy Kyle Show. Actors Jack P Shepherd, Michelle Keegan and Ben Price joined him on the show in character as pitter lovers David Platt and Tina McIntyre.
The trio appeared on the celebrity special for the show’s 1000th episode celebrations, with Tina being accused of sleeping with her brother-in-law, Nick. Michelle, in character, called David “a freak” and said he went to prison because she broke up with him.
She added: “He couldn’t handle it so he smashed the whole street up.” A lie-detector test revealed Tina hadn’t bonked Nick, and the three were sent back to Weatherfield.
