Children’s TV legend Paul Chuckle has thrown his hat in the ring for the role of James Bond.
The pantomime star turned DJ has suggested he could be the perfect fit for the suave spy following Daniel Craig’s departure from the role. With a star-studded line-up of potential stars to take on the role, leftfield suggestions are being made. The likes of Daniel Kaluuya, Academy Award winner Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy were all tipped for the role.
But Chuckle, 76, has won over fans of the franchise with a post on Twitter/X, admitting he fancies his chances in the role first brought to the screen by Sean Connery.

In a post which received nearly 1,000 likes, Chuckle put a hand waving emoji, signalling he may be interested in the role. His quote-tweet was in reference to a question on who the next Bond actor should be. It read: “Who should be the next James Bond?”
Fans of the comedian have since edited the image and replaced Spider-Man star Tom Holland, planting Chuckle’s face over the top of Holland’s. They wrote: “I decided to eliminate Tom Holland to make space for you.”
Another user came up with the potential title for a Chuckle-starring Bond film, writing: “A View To Me To You To A Kill.”
Others confirmed Chuckle had their vote on becoming the next Bond actor. One wrote: “Got to be you.” A second added: “I’d vote for you!”. Further tweets revelled in the classic catchphrases Chuckle would use on his comedy show Chucklevision. One joked: “To me, to Q…”
Another user pointed out the lack of other classic comedy actors who should be in the running for the role of James Bond. “No Nigel Havers or Larry Lamb on the list? Disgraceful, they wrote. “Surely Rob Brydon is an outside shot as well.”
