Coronation Street fans think they know who the woman currently posing as Lauren Bolton’s mum really is.
Kerry turned up in Weatherfield on Wednesday (April 10) and found herself in Roy’s Rolls, asking for more information about her ‘missing daughter’ and eventually confessing she couldn’t afford a hotel in the area. Roy offered her a place to stay, but before she bedded down for the night viewers saw her take a mysterious phone call, telling the caller: “I’m in.”
Kerry also carried a can of pepper spray in her bag, leaving viewers terrified for Roy and Nina living upstairs in the flat. And in what would be a huge twist, some fans think they’ve figured out Kerry’s real identity – and a connection to a former character.

Some have suggested Kerry is related to Hayley’s son Christian Gatley, who came up in episodes this week after giving a foul interview which accused Roy of murdering his late wife and making comments about Hayley being trans. Now fans think Christian could return in person to the cobbles, perhaps in connection to Kerry.
One Facebook user suggested: “I think it’s Christian’s wife.” Someone else said: “This is the same Christian who punched Hayley, never reconciled with her while she was ill and even then he tried to get money out of her in as he was in debt of £5,000 – and offered to introduce her grandchildren to Hayley in exchange.”
“I hope they bring that Christian back into Corrie, he would get a few home truths,” somebody else posted. A fourth said: “What’s the betting that ‘Lauren’s mum’ in Corrie has something to do with Christian after that vile interview? Poor Roy.”
Spoilers for the soap have confirmed that ‘Kerry’ is not really Lauren’s mum, and is actually named Alice. In upcoming episodes, Roy receives a phone call from the real Kerry, begging him not to phone her again. This in turn exposes Alice, who starts filming a shaken Roy, Shona and Nina.
When Roy attempts to stop her filming, Alice falls and hits her head, accusing Roy of assault. Later, viewers will see Roy charged with Lauren’s murder and thrown in a jail cell to await his fate.

Over on Reddit, users have been left fuming at the current storyline, with one fan penning: “For all the rubbish over the last decade, the final straw for me may be this storyline. Not only is it heartbreaking, totally insensitive to neurodiverse people, but, as a lawyer, completely and utterly unbelievable.”
Another said: “Decades of character/society development wiped away.” Somebody else pointed out: “With so many adults now identifying as autistic, it would be an ideal time for Roy to be introduced to this possibility. Any I think especially now. He needs an advocate (aside from the excellent DeeDee) who can completely understand his reactions, actions etc and help guide and shield him through this god awful process, especially with the police.”
